Cylinder ID (Absolute test with WPS)

Post by Jnaimoli »

Good day, I have seen older videos of yours that shows while using the Diagnostics software compression test accompanied with the WPS you were able to determine which cylinder contained the WPS by the (P) next to graph. Has this been removed/changed. I just did this test and notice resulting graph uses numbers for cylinders and no longer letters and that there does not appear to be a (P) sync any more. Thank you in advance

Link to older videos? Never seen cyl sync before. Where did you connect the sync in your tests?

And I am not using a sync as Pico Diagnostic software does not let you add any channels to the test parameters

Hi,
Use the pressure sensor on any cylinder, the cylinders will be displayed in the order of ignition(for example if you can remove the glow plug from cylinder 4 the display order will be 4-2-1-3 (for a 4-cylinder engine)), is not a precise method but can be used when you have a broken glow plug, see attachments.
Best regards
