Hello Victor I hope you are well?

Regarding a User Manual, both devices are covered within the Guided Tests under "Sensors"

These links will help:

https://www.picoauto.com/library/automo ... g-sensors/

You mentioned 0 V into Scope when used a regular sensor, could you elaborate here?

Take care.....Steve

Hi Steve,
I have just recently purchased the TA330 and get no response (0 volts) when I use the sensor to scope (4425) the signal from my 2012 Fiesta, 2007 Silverado, or 2000 Lumina. I followed and downloaded the setup for the keyless sensor test but I am not having any luck. Is there a method to test the sensor to eliminate a faulty sensor? Please advise.

djagos,
Since you mentioned using the TA330 on a 2000 Lumina and a 2007 Silverado, I assume you are not aware of the intended purpose of the TA330. Either that or you stated TA330 when you meant TA329?

The TA330 is designed to respond to frequencies of around 125-140kHz because most keyless entry (smart key)systems use door and interior oscillators(transmitters) that operate at 125kHz. 125kHz is considered low frequency. Most traditional wireless remote systems operate at 315MHz or 434MHz; this is considered radio frequency.

This video from Ben Martins may help as he demonstrates the TA330's intended purpose:

If your Fiesta has Intelligent access with push button start, the TA330 should work to pickup pulse signals from the exterior and interior oscillators. See service info to get locations of oscillators.

Thanks Grant, I got an education on the 330 and 329. Does Pico have a sensor for the 315MHz or 434MHz remotes?

djagos,
Pico does not have a wireless remote tester that I am aware of. Many tire pressure warning system tools have the ability to test for wireless remote transmitters because tire pressure sensors use radio frequencies. I do not know of a tool that will take a wireless remote transmitter signal and generate a voltage that can be plotted on a scope.

You can get the frequency of the remote you want to test by obtaining the FCC ID off the remote housing, then search by FCC ID:
www.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid

I am a Lexus dealer tech. We have a TPWS tool made by OTC that has the capability of testing a wireless remote's signal strength. This is the only tool I have used recently to test remote signal strength. It can test 4 different frequencies: 312.5MHz, 314.35MHz, 315MHz, and 433.92MHz. The dealer tool is part number 11717-00012 "TPWS TESTER." I believe the aftermarket equivalent is the OTC 3838.

A less expensive tool that is not a TPMS tool but can perform a similar test; I have not used this tool:

I have that tool, the TDB003. I'm not 100% sure about it's reliability at the moment but will post back soon.
