Lock 🔐 on my saved files

Post by Darren Fraser »

I'm using an ADC212 scope and when I save files they have a lock emblem over them and they are not visible when I try to share on this forum.

Do I have to save the file in a different format? I'm using windows 10

Hello Daren and thank you for the post

When saving your files, what is the file extension suffix? (e.g .psdata)

Can you open files you have saved using the ADC212?

If they cannot be shared via the forum could you attach such a file and send to support@picotech.com (reference to this forum post)

Take care......Steve

Thanks Steve.
The suffix is PSD (in caps). I have no problem opening them on my PC but when I want to share they don't appear on my drop down menu.

I attached one of the unlocked files and sent it to the Pico support email you provided. Weird thing is when I previewed the sent email and tried to download the file using internet explorer it wouldn't open. I could see it in my downloads but it wouldn't open.

I realise the software is probably obsolete on the ADC212 and we need to upgrade, but hey ho, we're a non profit NGO so we work with what we have.

I've got no issues with the functionality of the scope (apart from a few limitations), is just I am limited in sharing on the forums. Don't know what other format is acceptable on the forums. I noticed that your waveforms Steve appear in the message and is not a PSD file? I like that because I can't view the other members PSD files on my iPad.

Hello again Darren, thanks to my colleague Martyn I have learned this is a PicoScope 5 file (PSD format)

I have been able to open this file using the current build of PicoScope 6 Automotive 6.14.25 here https://www.picoauto.com/downloads

To open the PSD file I could not drag onto an open session of PicoScope 6 above, instead:

Open PS6 Auto 6.14.25
Click on File > Open
Locate your PSD file and it will open in this session of PS6
Save your file as a psdata file and you can then add/share the file here.

Below is the PSD file you sent to support@picotech.com
CONVERT TO PS6 AUTO.psdata
Converted PSD to PSdata
(113.89 KiB) Downloaded 364 times
I hope this helps, take care......Steve

I'm pretty certain it's 64 Steve but I'll double check on Monday when I get to the workshop.
