Hi,
Can anyone tell me looking at this waveform what is wrong with the motor on the hbb on a Shogun that I am currently working on. I have also attached a known good one that I took from another vehicle I have here but I am intrigued to know how to understand what may be wrong.
Thanks

Hi.
The check can be performed when the motor is activated from the scanner, or when the power supply is activated by a jumper.
You should see a sharp increase in current when starting the pump, then switching to normal pumping mode.
Be careful to turn off the power when the emergency pressure valve is activated.

Hi,
What does the dips in current draw mean (lower peaks) when it is operating? There doesn't seam to be much of a pattern?
Thanks

A conventional electric motor with brushes is used.
The fact that the high peak is replaced by a low value on the oscillogram - confirms this.
Similarly, there is a wave - shaped change in the current at the fuel pump if the motor is with brushes.
The number of pairs of contacts in the motor can be calculated from the current ripples.
