Rising edge count across different buffer

Post by Burt_100 »

I want to count the rising count on a crankshaft waveform but the missing tooth is on 2 different pages on the buffer is it possible to move the rulers onto different pages?

Hello Burt and thank you for the post

Unfortunately the time rulers denote the time on the current buffer only and to accurately measure events between buffers (i.e from a single point in time on one buffer to another point in time on the following buffer) is going to be challenging

Could we increase the time span of your captures to ensure we have two complete rotations of the crankshaft (minimum) Here we then have the four stroke cycle on one buffer so as to enable the rising edge count measurement feature (between rulers on the current buffer) to capture one crankshaft rotation.

Below we have used 20 ms/div for an engine at 850 rpm approx. Note this engine has missing teeth at 180 degree intervals about the crankshaft pick up

I hope this helps, take care......Steve
