Intro New to the Pico Scope

Post by stegichw »

Hey, looking forward to starting to use this tool more often. Haven't had many circumstances yet to use it, i did have an occasion today and was looking for possibly some help to a possible issue/error on my part. We have a volvo we were trying to test a VVT solenoid circuit. i loaded the template on the pico from the program for the vvt single test,(ground controlled circuit pulse width modulated from the ecm. When hooking up the tool, the lead to engine ground and other side to the negative command from the computer we were getting a high spike of voltage everytime the solenoid seemed to shut off. Our pattern wasn't a typical square wave as id expect, I' m not sure if its something i need to adjust on the screen or i'm guessing user error, as im new to this. Hoping to learn from all the experienced Pico users out there. Thanks

Start with posting psdata file or print screen?

All inductive loads will spike. Current does not like being intrerrupted!
