Laptop specs

Post by vassmw »

Hi lads,
I have the 4425 coming next week. I want to get a dedicated laptop for the pico but obviously dont want to break the bank. Just wondering what, as of now, you recommend in relation to processor, ram, memory etc that would be more than adequate for running the 4425. I know there are a lot of posts re this but some are a bit old so just want to make sure I have the right right laptop for the job. Thanks in advance.

Nowadays the guidance is that If the Laptop can run Windows 10 then it will be able to run PicoScope software.

Our group is composed of power users. While minimal specs can certainly run PicoScope software, when you push the scope performance, it is PC resource intensive and some PCs will fall down.

We recommend a minimum of a 2 GHz duo core processor with 4 gigs of RAM and preferably USB 3.0. More RAM is preferred.

As for OS, Windows 7 or higher (not Windows RT or S).

After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs with Windows 7.

Our advice is to go for a new Windows 10 Laptop.
