Picking up coil firing events in injector waveform

Post by Frs2180 »

Scoping a petrol fuel injector current and I seem to be getting hash in my waveform which looks like coil firing events. Can someone explain why this happens? I also randomly get a large spike in the fuel current ramp... pic included. Current clamp connected at 15amp fuse.

With a picoscope, this never happens. The scope you have is a bit ... over rated.

Stick to basics, why concentrate on this area, this tool will have live data, use this to set your direction, the scope function does not have the full capabilities of Pico but with understanding of the basics it will help find a conclusion. Check out Scanner Danners web site for Snap On info. There is an old saying in this business dont over think the problem. Hope this helps cheers RonW
