Ive got one of these:

its got the USB B connector:
IMG_20191002_072759.jpg

I know its got bluetooth but I always use it with cable as It saves me leaving it anywhere + ecu flashing and live data wired is always better, its genuine, I bought it second hand and use it I about 3 to 5 times a week, its never let me down.

I also have a few of other VCI's that use the USB B connector, again all genuine as I need reliability cant have tools / equipment letting me down

I also have one of these:
PICO-4423-KIT-2.jpg
This also has the USB B connector, I bought it brand new, use it about 3 - 4 times a month, Its always lived in its padded box and taken great care of like I do all my equipment,,,,,,,,,

As you can see in the video here:

That should be on 0.00 volts, thought it was the cable. changed that still the same, so after little use its let me down, I contacted Pico about this problem and this is what I got:

If you wish to return the unit to us for repair, I will need to issue you with a returns number (RMA) and require the following information:

Contact name
Full Address
Telephone Number
Email Address
Serial number - ('Help' menu - 'About PicoScope 6' ie AB123/456 OR
bottom side of unit, number under the bar code ie AB123/456))

Standard repair charge for a 4423 is £150+ shipping and VAT.

Hello and thank you for the post

I have tried to play the video above but the message returned suggests "The video is unavailable"

Either way, please accept our sincere apologies for the issue you have experienced with the USB connector at the rear of the scope

You are absolutely correct when you say "I need reliability cant have tools / equipment letting me down"

Our profession is difficult enough without test equipment introducing "variables" during diagnosis

In order to understand what has happened to the USB socket/Scope we need to recover the device back to Pico UK

The scope would then be examined to determine the cause of failure and the action to take (which may not incur the standard repair charge)

With that said it is correct to inform you of the costs involved should the repair charge be relevant.Rest assured you would never be charged without your authorization to carry out the repair.

There are occasions where units are returned and beyond economical or reliable repair (water ingress is a typical example) In this scenario you would be entitled to 50% discount off a replacement scope on the understanding your existing scope is disposed of correctly by Pico UK.

What is of paramount importance to Pico is that we ensure your Scope is up and running without failure to enable you to continue working

I hope this helps, take care.......Steve

Water, its never been near or even seen water, I dont rinse it under the tap.

Ive got tools / equipment from 30 years ago still going strong due to its quality, plus great care is always taken by me not to damage any of my, or anyone else's tools / equipment as it only there to earn me a wage, believe me, I would have like to put all the money aside Ive spent over the last 30 odd years and buy something for me that I wanted not needed,

Has this pico auto been built from the bench pico, if so I dont think a lot of thought went into the design for ruggedness to be used i a workshop environment, its OK for you "test" guy's but in the real world when we're struggling against, idiots, Fred in the shed, how to fix my car forums, unreliable equipment, time, its completely different
