Audi S4 Quattro 1999 2.7 AGB speedo not working

Could someone tell me how to test speedo sensor on n/s gearbox output for driveshaft, sensor has 2 wire connection & I believe is a reluctor sensor pickup (technical data is a bit sketchy even with Alldata).

Easy way is scope both wires and post the results. Being 2 wire it is quite likely an Inductive as opposed to Hall. Could be a Magneto but probably not in a 1999 car.
