Volvo D5 relative compression

Post by lastvagn8 »

Hi all,

struggling with a Volvo V70 D5 2004. It has problem with running rough and alot of soot in particulate filter. Checked for leaks and some injectors are replaced. Did a relative compression check and heard after some cranking that the engine ran faster.
According to the waveform it's alot less current after a little while.
Anyone have any idea?

Hi there,

Have a look at the cam shafts and hydraulic lifters. I believe this engine is prone to failures in this area.

This would lead to incorret calve opening and closure.
