56 plate 1.2 Corsa misfire (EGR related)

Post by Frs2180 »

Having trouble with a 1.2 Corsa d. Runs great at idle. Fuel trims moving plus and minus 3%. The problem occurs when the revs are picked up and the EGR is commanded on. It has a bad misfire and fuel trims peg rich at -25% both o2 sensors go full rich. Disconnect the EGR lift revs and engine runs perfect. I suspect excessive EGR flow? Vehicle has map and no maf. Any ideas where to start guys?

Hello!

Clean EGR first.
You can test the actuator with a diagnostic tool? If yes, you can see with your eyes If it is working properly or not.
With EGR off what are the values of the o2 sensors ?

O2s switch brilliantly with egr commanded off. Put the old unit back on today and it runs fine. The replacement egr was a cheap pattern part supplied by the customer. Wondering if the new egr needed adapting or if they are plug and play. Only replaced due to gasket leak on the coolant side
