Mitsubishi L200 B40 2.5 Di-d

Post by mikeevans »

We have a 2012 L200 B40 2.5 DI-D 37000 miles. It has a missfire on idle and is noticeable up to about 2200 rpm. It feels like a definite missfire on one cylinder. There are no stored codes,EML off, and no useful live data on Snap on Solus.
Vehicle performs very well and missfire not detectable when driving. Is there a reliable Pico test that will identify the misfiring injector/cylinder?
As there is quite a lot of work involved to remove all injectors to get them tested it would be good to be able to identify the weak cylinder before we start.
Any advice on how you would approach this fault will be appreciated

Have you any vibration @ idle?maybe a partially seized dual mass if it has one fitted, maybe mis triggering an injector, scope the cam crank signals against a known good capture,

Hello,
For this type of malfunction I will use only two signals:the crankshaft signal (with math for freq) and the injector 1 current as reference.
Best regards
