Non starting GolfV BKC

Post by victor2k »

Hello,
I have a non-starting GolfV /2005/BKC.
No faults stored in ECU memory. The engine not start with spray but cam vs crank is ok.
Cam vs crank ,compression and injectors curent vs voltage was checked. The quality of fuel wasn't checked. Also the supply pump wasn't checked.
Only at 360* crankshaft I see a strange peak(intake valves not open on all 4 cylinders ?).
Don't know why I have noise on pressure sensor ( sensor and scope was't protected by engine vibrations-this is what I think) when engine is cranking!
Please look at my recordings.Any advice is wellcome.
Thank you.

Hi Victor
Did the car shut down while driving or is it just a non start after sitting parked?
Also do you hear lift pump when you cycle the ignition? I found that stuck intake manifold flap can cause a non start on these.
As for the pressure sensor I dont think that it is a noise. Maybe a damaged lifter. Also common fault on these.
And another thing, check this out as for the cam and crank. Might be of some help.

That is all you need.
The engine not start with spray but cam vs crank is ok.
If it won't start with spray then that points to a Mechanical, Compression, Intake or Exhaust airflow issue ???
The quality of fuel wasn't checked
Starting (or attempting to) on spray should take care of that, more so if you cut / block the supply from the tank or filter

Have you checked the Turbo?
Common for them to block compressor housing or turbine housing as are forced out causing no start or start and stall.

One other thing is the Injector voltage only peaks around 5.5v in your waveform?
I only have injector Voltage and current from running but is generally within a volt of battery voltage at the time

Control unit supply problem or was the battery low on these captures?

As for the compression waveform can a comparison vehicle be got?
