Hi Darren , may I ask the issue with the van? . Is it a puma diesel (out of transit) . Is this on denzo or continetal common rail ? .
Regards
Danny

If you are seeing repeated cam sensor dtcs (range or performance) in particular . Worth noting on the ford continetal transits ,rangers etc the code will repeatedly flag until pcm learned values have been reset.
Also these engines have oil pump issues causing excessive drag on the chain and are common to jump a tooth on the inlet cam.
Pm me if you need anything more

Hi Danny

Thanks for the reply, I am chasing P0016

I have not done any mechanical work on it myself, but this has had a new chain, this has been checked twice and the garage are confident its correct....

Interesting what you say about the learning values, I will have to re-look at that...

Cheers Darren

I would reset the learned values and re appraise it , worst case its the same and for pushing a button it will stop that niggling doubt in the back of your mind.

The timing on the later transit , custom and ranger puma diesels all time the crank by locking the front end with damper removed not the previous method through ckp apeture.
Why was chain replaced lost tension?

Looking at the fault code information on Citroen service box it claims 10 successive starts to clear the fault...

The crank is locked up by inserting locking pin in the crank sensor hole..

Chain was replaced due to rattling,

Still think its worth resetting pcm learned values , the stretching could very well be contributed to by a sticking dragging pump .
Good luck if I can help anymore just ask

This is a PUMA engine.... Just done this video, there is no learning process via diag for cam crank, loads of other component learning...

fault does return on start up, may have to check the timing myself...

Hi Darren

Any chance of posting the complete PS data file of cam, crank and an injector.

Its not a specific cam crank adaption on the fords . Its just a general reset of the pcm learned values and is always logged after a chain or engine repair .
It might be worth clarifing which timing tools where used as the ford vehicles this age time uo at the front end .
Also check ckp bracket is tight , gently rock the ckp see if the bracket will move ,they can come loose but its box out to resecure .
