beta software advantages?

Post by Dcunning35 »

Hi please could someone clarify the differences between the beta and standard automotive software, I am currently using the standard version with windows 7.
I'm new to the pico but have noticed mentions of beta software in various posts and am seeking advice on which to use?.

The edge count measurement is a pretty nice new feature in the beta 6.12.1.1691. The interface has also been rearranged slightly and made more touch screen friendly. One nasty bug to watch out for is not to select Waveform Numbers radio button selection when saving. That's instant death.

No reason not to have both the release and the beta on the PC. They live separately and you can use either one. Files saved with the beta cannot be opened with earlier versions so you will need it to open files others have saved using it.

Also, you must have a release version updated to 6.10.16 or later before installing this new beta. The beta does not work with Windows XP.
