Book for NVH study

Post by volrem »

Hi

Anyone can recommend some good book or some other source that can help study and understand NVH diagnostics better?

Any live hands on training would be great also.

Regards,
Ahti

Hello Ahti and thank you for your post.

Contained within the NVH software are 2 forms of help

Content help:
CONTENTS HELP-NVH.jpg
Show vibrate help:
SHOW VIBRATE HELP-NVH.jpg
There are 2 NVH case studies available too:

https://www.picoauto.com/library/case-s ... ration-nvh
https://www.picoauto.com/library/case-s ... serati-nvh

Unfortunately these case studies do not incorporate Three Axis Mode measurements as they were carried out before the release of the current NVH kit.

They do however contain theoretical information and describe the functions within the NVH software

We have scheduled time in the near future for a number of bite-sized NVH videos that will assist with the set-up of the tool.

As for books Arjen you are right, they appear scarce.

I have however found a Toyota publication immensely helpful when looking at NVH theory,
Publication number DM 016E

I hope this helps, take care......Steve

Google "Volkswagen Noise, Vibration and Harshness Technical Service Training" there's a pdf kicking around of this study program that is pretty good for beginners. Goes into all the basics about frequency, 1st and 2nd. order vibrations etc.
You could also have a look at http://alflash.com.ua/avtovideo/noise/F ... 0NOISE.pdf

Great! Mark
I have had a quick look at the two books you recommended.
Both are rather suited to beginners.
Many thanks

Kind regards
