WPS500 Pressure Adaptors for Sealey Fuel Testers

Post by FioranoCars »

Hi All
Does anyone know if the WPS500 Kit (or the TA250 Sykes/or A N other adapter) will hook up to the Sealey version (from the older VS210 - not sure if the newer VSE series are the same or not). Anyway the TA250 page has no dimensions or side view of the profile, so no idea if it's even remotely close! (any chance these can be added?)

It's just over 15mm long male with a schrader valve in the end.
The tip is 6.35mm for about 3.5mm, then increases to 7.80mm dia for 3.75mm, drops to 6mm dia for about 3mm and then increases to 7.8mm for the balance. Pictures to follow ...

thanks
Richard

Hello

I am sorry to say I am not certain of which coupler the Sealy kits use so I cannot be 100% confident as to which of our standard adaptor sets would work with you kit. What I can say is that the 3 standard connectors we are supporting do seem to cover the majority of kit out there.

The 3 quick couplers we currently support are as follows.

The standard coupler that comes on the WPS500X is the Foster series 2 coupler as detailed below.
http://www.couplers.com/page.php?P=catalog_browse&CP=6

The Sykes Pickavant kit uses the Rectus 21 series connector
http://www.rectus.de/products/qcde_prod ... reak/21kl/

The AST kit uses the Foster FST series size 12
http://www.couplers.com/page.php?P=catalog_browse&CP=19

From you photograph I think the connector you have may well be a Foster series 2 but I would recommend checking against the manufacturers drawings.

I hope this is of some assistance.

Yours

Chris

Thanks, lots of excellent info, but the best data I can find on the Foster Series 2 is this:

Converting the imperial seems to come out about right on the outer diameter and length, so the reduced diameter element I can only guess at but they look "right".

Does the Foster Series 2 use a valve? That element seems like the show stopper, and I don't think the Foster 2 is a dry-dry connection and not sure which, if any half, is dry?

If anyone has already tried or can add anything feel free to shout ... otherwise we'll just have to have a go and see who gets covered in fuel

Cheers

The connectors we use have a valve in the female coupler only, the male on the WPS500X relies on the valve in the body of the WPS500X.
