Capacitive Pick Ups - Stable Readings

Post by miscx »

Hi,

quick question regarding the capacitive pick up leads.

I am struggling to get a reliable reading on an ignition system< I have a 1000:1 HV probe that I am using to verify the breakdown voltage on the spark plug alongside the capacitive pick up lead.

The lead has an offset (which can be calibrated out) but every now and then the pick up lead will read 100KV when the HV probe is reading 15KV. HV probe is calibrated so confident in the 15KV reading.

Any suggestions on some sort of input filtering that may remove the high voltage 100KV reading.

Hello and thank you for the post.

Would you have a psdata file with the symptom present as this would help with evaluation?

If not could you provide the psprobe file as I would like to duplicate the issue here at Pico?

Many thanks, take care.......Steve
