toyota P0352 trouble code

Post by evanlip »

i am dealing with a ignition coil of toyota previa 2.4L engine,
the owner complaint about the sudden misfire when the MIL light on,but after a while he drove, the MIL light goes off and the car runs like normal.
i plugged in my scan tool and the history code shows P0352 ignition coil "b" primary/secondary circuit.
so i checked them with the picoscope, channel one = control circuit, channel 2 = amp probe on ground,
the result that it shows just nice,a slight oscilation at the beginning than a nice ramp.
is this amperage graph enough to tell me that this coil is good?
or do i need to look at the IGF feedback signal as well?
coz i went out for a few rounds of test drive, and the car just nice.

You have rightly entered, the command by the engine control unit, the current consumption, but lacks the voltage signal of the primary, to better understand acquisizione with would need a longer time and at least one strong Expedited, then zoom in on the signal are controlled by signals .

Hi Evanlip
Excuse my late reply.
I'd capture of the secondary circuit, if this is not available, remove ignition coil and add a cable candles maybe not resistive.
If ignition coil fitted with a response signal to ECM, you also capture him, this should be the signal that ECM determines the P0352.
As the saying tode, I would catch with longer times maybe 20ms / div but you have to increase the number of samples to screen (1MS) otherwise not see good peak power

Hi Tode
I think if ECM controls charging coil signal of about 4V, you can not take the primary signal.
