Setting trigger up for number 1 cylinder

Post by starrauto » Sat Dec 20, 2014 12:10 am

I was just curious what people use to trigger of number 1 cylinder on a coil on plug vehicle. I know you can go off the primary signal, but is there other options? I have seen the "wands" that can be placed on the coil to view the secondary ignition. Can this be used as the trigger for number 1? I am new to scopes and not sure how to trigger yet. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What's the purpose of the 'trigger' , ie what are you wanting to scope ?

Coil current, COP ext lead/s,coil turn on, COP probe, sync probe .................

I want to trigger number 1 cylinder to match the exhaust pulses using the First Look transducer.
