forgive me,but this is all new to me,this is a trace of year 2000 (thor)4.6 range rover camshaft sensor,i am trying to fix a misfire.there is a break at the top of the waveform...is this normal? could it be causing my problem?
If you mean the small dips with the spikes, then no worries. Those are voltage drops caused by the coil charging events. The spikes are EMI from the coil firing. They look like upside down coil current ramps for a reason.
thank you for that,the only reason I wondered was that I have another camshaft waveform of off an identical range rover which does not have the same pattern,and that one runs perfectly.i,m just basically trying to find any differences between the two vehicles
