Jag lpg Misfire

Post by westy032001 »

Hi All
I'm hoping you can point me in the direction of a garage who has the correct equipment to test coil on plugs in Worcestershire .
I have a 1998 XJ8 converted to lpg , the car did run perfectly but after the engine got hot when water pump went it has run rough ever since , it has been to several garages who have charged a lot but not fixed it , (the head gaskets seem fine !! ) , this was approx 20k miles ago ,no OBD codes are thrown and engine idles roughly worse on lpg , new plugs fitted .
I have been told the 2 pin coils on my car don't tend to produce OBD codes when failing and that lpg is tough on coils due to higher voltage required to jump with no petrol vapor ?

Cheers.

Hi
I would recommend looking for a local Jaguar specialist who uses Autologic and PicoScope or talk to a friend who uses a good local garage. Sorry but our data base does not itemize specialist vehicle makes.
