Re: non start, range rover p38

Hi, your secondary shows no spark. Doesn't look like secondary to me. Your injector setting is also way off. Can't see any Attenuator connected to the scope. The cranking speed is about 90 rpm. Difficult to make out your compression data, compression is there but wouldn't comment on valve timming. B...

Re: non start, range rover p38

Hi, poor settings again. You better read guided tests before you connect your scope. Everything at 20 Volt setting, no
Attenuator on primary ignition (less than half the trace) same for injector. Difficult to see anything in your scope trace.
Try again.

Re: Interpretation of scope correlation data!

Hi technician, I have noticed that your coil was not connected during your test, since there was no EMI . Place the coil on the cyl. head with your spark tester connected and run the engine. Also increase your time to 500ms. This spike will show you where ignition takes place. Of course it is not a ...

Re: Interpretation of scope correlation data!

Hi technician, okay make sure you have your spark tester connected on the coil and let it fire while you have the WPS connected to whatever cyl. You don't connect the spark tester to the scope. Run the engine and you will see the EMI of that plug in your compression wave.

Re: Interpretation of scope correlation data!

Hi technician, you need to connect a spark tester to the coil No1 or whatever cyl. you place the WPS, to see the EMI. Also your crank signal is
upside down. Unfortunately I have cam & crank correlation for 1400cc only.

Re: Interpretation of scope correlation data!

Hi technician, the ignition event can be seen in the compression tower (EMI) no extra channel necessary. The injection
event usually takes place at the end of the exhaust stroke. hope that helps

Re: Interpretation of scope correlation data!

I managed to find a bit of spare time this evening to have another look at this correlation, timing and fueling. As you rightly pointed out I was thinking that TDC is where the missing teeth are on the flywheel, how wrong I was. How have I got a better understanding of what is happening in the cyli...
