Re: Error On Cylinder Balance Test

Never been a fan of PD. Nice idea but results are too unreliable. Could it may be the cramshafts are off, right? It sure looks like something like that. Do you own a WPS? Can you do another capture with more time on the screen, synced to #1 and give the firing order. I want to have a closer look at ...

Re: 2008 Renault Master 2.5 G9U engine

Just a thought. Leaking inlet valve. Two normal humps - compressions, followed by a slightly lower hump which I'm thinking is air leaking into the inlet manifold which is making 'puffing' noise out of the air intake The next cylinder now has a better VE there fore shows the higher comp hump....

Re: Hi from Auckland NZ

if I deciphered it correctly, four wave forms superimposed on each other. I'm not sure that is correct. If you used the tool menu as is. You would only see the pattern on channel A which has the trigger. The time base is to short to see the other events happening on the other channels. As Robski ha...

Re: Zoom on voltage fluctuation.

Have you tried playing with the scaling for the appropriate channel? (Bottom corners).

Re: Graphing PWM and Duty Cycle

Measuring duty cycle can be carried out at specific point during a captured trace by selecting MEASUREMENT tab ADD MEASUREMENTS-select which channel you need to measure e.g. A-select measurement type DUTY CYCLE then select BETWEEN RULERS then click OK. It's the graphing capability that is missing. ...

Re: 4423 scope and a/c power to my laptop?

Do most people disconnect from the mains when using the scope?
I don't. But I have had mains hum stall an engine when connected to a crank sensor and being sloppy with the gnd connection.

Re: use of a Fluke pressure transducer

AFAIK it is possible but apparently the Fluke is very sensitive to noise and accuracy is also not so great.
The WPS is a great tool.

You will also have to make up your probes as well.

Re: Graphing PWM and Duty Cycle

I too would like to see this as PWM/Duty cycle is a very large part of engine management today.

Let's hope it is implemented in the software sooner rather than later. :)

Re: focus 2005 petrol injector wavform

I have a ford focus 2000cc with a duratec engine which is lumpy at idle I could be wrong but that second image seems odd. To me that looks like 1400RPM ???? Have I misread that? If that is the case you must be using the throttle. That injection may not be a fault. Really need more captures as Robsk...
