Re: did it worked with 3224 kit

Hi, I am afraid that none of our automotive programs, including Pico Diagnostics, will work with our "Test & Measurement" (Lab) scopes. Our automotive scopes are the 3223, 3423, 4223 & 4423 USB scopes. The old, parallel port, ADC-212 scope will work with PicoScope6 automotive but not with Pico Diagn...

Re: can bus decoding

Hi, The default settings for the Automotive version of R6.3.43 is to have Spectrum, Persistence & Serial decoding turned off. To make them available, go to Tools, Preferences, Options and under Advanced Features, tick Spectrum, Persistence & Serial decoding. Click on Apply. To access CAN decoding, s...

Re: Low Voltage error

Hi,
Yes, a voltage reading 5V too low is a classic symptom of a bad USB connection.

Re: Test immobiliser antenna coil with Pico?

Hi,
I have made an adapter for sniffing RF by simply connecting a small RF inductor, about 470uF, across the open end of a 1 metre BNC lead. You can cut the plug off a BNC to BNC lead or wire the inductor to the back of a BNC socket and just connect to the end of an intact BNC to BNC lead.

Hi, The main reason the primary mirrors the secondary is that the coil is really just a step-up transformer of about 100:1 ratio. The primary voltage causes a current which is converted into magnetic flux which is then converted back into a voltage in the secondary. With a perfect transformer, no lo...

Hi, It is only possible to test for IR & RF signals if you make detectors for each to interface to the scope input. For IR that would mean an IR diode, load resistor & voltage source (+5V). For RF, an RF signal diode to rectify the signal would do (bit like a crystal set!). You still would only be a...

Hi,
I think you are looking in the wrong area, the two signals are not related at all apart from being about the same frequency, it is the injection pulses that should be related to the cam sensor.

Hi,
I am afraid it is not completed yet, it is a matter of available resources. It will be announced in the automotive newsletter when it is ready. Best to subscribe to that if you are not already.

Hi,
We are looking at ways of incorporating rpm and it will come eventually. Getting it simple and foolproof is not easy.
Have you tried capturing at a slower time base for a longer period with many samples and then viewing using the magnifying tools?
