MINI R56 2009

Had this car left with me this morning, didn't think she was turning up but anyway... The car is a Mini R56 engine N12B14A. The customer was complaining about the engine running rough, she advised the revs would go up and down while driving. She also advised that the instrument display had a EML war...

Re: HVAC RMS

The reason I thought I'd ask this is because I used to use a RMS when I worked at Vauxhall some 13 years ago and their RMS did recover oil which I used to measure in the RMS before adding new oil back into the system when refilling. Because of this I was unsure whether I was missing something on the...

HVAC RMS

Any experienced members on here regarding Refrigerant Management Stations? We have two RMS by two different manufacturers, a SUN QTECH III - Pro and a ICE Refrigerant Management Station, identical to a ECOTECHNICS LND10-TRK-1200 ICE. The recovery process from either RMS does not seem to recover any ...

Re: Ford Fiesta ABS Testing

Add an Amp Clamp to channel B and it really does paint a pretty picture of that sensor output. That would have to be a very expensive micro amps clamp wouldn't it STC? These magnretoresitive sensors produce a very subtle & rather messy / noisy signal in my experience (on these Fords in any case). S...

Re: Pico amp clamp

if a fault code (whichever manufacturer) shows up for that sensor...... its more probable than not the AF wideband sensor at fault Agreed, it is one area where you can almost guarantee that a new one will fix it. I was going to say something earlier about this but felt I should withhold in case som...

Re: Pico amp clamp

Steve smiths case study works a treat. An easier, quicker & less detailed method is to ac couple the signal wire and you can see rich or lean which is enough most of the time. If you really need to know how rich or how lean then you can graph the data on a good scan tool and that will paint a reaso...

Re: Pico amp clamp

The Pico TA018 current clamp can either be purchased as an accessory within one of our popular diagnostic kits or individually under the packing code PP264. I am duly educated :D thanks Martyn. I did not realise that you were using two part numbers for the same component. I only know it as the TA01...

Re: Pico amp clamp

T, As with all things in this game what one person tells you may or may not be correct, as a professional in this industry it is up to each and every one of us to invest time, money and effort to keep up with the ever changing technology that we are required to deal with on a daily basis. The wideb...

Pico amp clamp

Pico Current Clamp 60A AC/DC) with BNC and 3m Screened Lead PP264 This question is not specific to Pico's current clamp, but to these types of clamps in general. I am to understand that when testing wide band oxygen sensors that clipping an amps clamp round the cable from the sensor will not be an a...

Re: Little bit of help to understand coil signal??? negative

I seem to very vaguely remember something from back in the late 1980's over here where some manufacturers, Bosch I think was one that used to have some type of rev limiter built into the ignition distributor to stop it over revving?
