Re: Ta325 on ev circuits

If you mean an amp clamp around 3 phases?

Curious how the waveform looks like. 0

Re: Opel (Vauxhall) Astra H 1.6 no crank no start, sort of

Kev, no significant speed difference, something like 8 rpm. Any piece of info helps, it does not matter if it is copy paste, I'll take it. I'll have another case study made, this time for a Smart, complete unknown territory for me, but yeah, good shout out there for more case studies. I am still thi...

Re: Opel (Vauxhall) Astra H 1.6 no crank no start, sort of

Thanks, I appreciate it! We don't know much about this car, it was dropped off with the keys, so we never saw the owner. But we understood the original engine had a mechanical defect and had to be replaced. This engine now on the car was fitted in another garage. I assume the donor car was written o...

Re: Relative compressions test

In short no; how would the scope know that, on the bases of battery voltage monitoring only? How would you do it / design it?

Engine has been replaced due to mechanical failure and since replacement, engine failed to start, or if it started, it stopped shortly. His garage was the 3rd in line for this car diag. Vehicle details: 2006, 1.6, engine code Z16XEP...

Re: Starting current

Ok,since amp clamps convert A to mV or V, I can’t see a reason why an attenuator is needed.
Remember, any oscilloscopes in this world plot voltage over time.
I think get some manual 1st and have a go.

Re: 2004 Land Rover Discovery Crankshaft sensor code

Have a look into waveform library if you can find something similar. To me, crank signal does not look ok, you have either a ring teeth problem, or space too big between sensor and wheel, or an aftermarket sensor.
