Re: New guy from MINI Cooper in Texas...

Hi,

Welcome to the forum - well done on getting a 4425. You will have to enlighten your new colleagues what can be done with a proper oscilloscope :D

Regards
Alan

PS As all Toyota dealers have the PicoScope 4423 the 4425 must be new to you - how do you find they compare?

Re: Introduction

Always good to have a trainer on board - it helps spread the word to more people! Using print screen should give you decent quality if PicoScope is maximised on your screen - the captured image is the resolution of your PC screen so unless you are printing in very high resolution it should be OK. Pr...

Re: Pico 4425 is ok?

Hi Luca, Another question - when you disconnect channel B does the noise go away from channel B? If it does then it could be the noise is actually present on the vehicle wiring. Unlike the scope test leads, wires in the vehicle wiring looms are not screened so do pick up noise. A helpful test would ...

Re: Pico 4425 is ok?

Hi,

That does look odd - can you add the PicoScope 4423 waveform and also describe what each channel is connected to / how the channels are grounded. One quick point to note, on the 4425 each channel has to be grounded.

Re: PicoScope Beta 6.9 Beta Duty Cycle graphing

Hi,

I have not tried this but if you want 0 to 5V rather than 0 to 100% it should be duty(-A)/20 and then change the units from % to V.

Re: USB 3.0 Cable for new scope

Hi, If you use the 4.5m USB2.0 cable then the scope will run in USB2.0 mode. The distance will be fine but you will loose the USB3.0 speed advantage. A longer USB3.0 cable MAY work, but as Steve says its technically out of spec so its possible there may be issues. It depends on the quality of the US...

Re: Subaru Forester oxygen sensor readings

Hi Mike, As Robski says this is a wideband oxygen sensor which typically output a signal from -1mA to + 1mA. This is too small for the 20/60A clamp or 30A clamp to directly pick up. The reason we do not have a preset yet in PicoScope is that there are several different ways of measuring the signal a...

Re: Weird fuel injector wave form

Hi,

Can you post the .psdata file. Have you enabled a filter on the waveform it looks too "smooth".

Re: Lotus Esprit with low compression

Has this been fixed Not yet  The car is running 100% OK which is quite an achievement for a Lotus! (the low compression is just during cranking) and all that can be checked without taking the head off (valve clearances etc) have been done. Whilst I would like to fix this given the choice of s...

Re: PicoScope Beta 6.9 Waveform Library Browser

Hi Ross, In answer to point 2, yes it is possible to upload existing waveforms to the database and in fact we hope at this early stage some of our wonderful customers will put in a bit of time to upload and share their most useful waveforms (especially ones such as cam vs crank). To do this it shoul...
