Re: AuthorMike - Ford Focus Mk1 – 2000 X reg

Had Ford changed the pumps a bit then for the Mk1's?
They used to be a bit more generic...

I'm assuming yes, as Escorts/Fez/Mondeo of that era are still running.

Re: AuthorMike - Ford Focus Mk1 – 2000 X reg

I can imagine the fault codes appearing if the pump was disconnected, especially if ignition was on when done so. I would deploy 3 Channels at the fuel pump connector end to get an idea whats happening first, power, ground & current. Either way you will see what is shorting whether its to ground or p...

Re: AuthorMike - Ford Focus Mk1 – 2000 X reg

Given you say "general fiddling with the wires and gromet etc to the pump under the rear seat the pump will usually spring back into life" - that 'suggests' a wiring fault. Whittling that down to chaffed wire, broken/corroded strands or connector fault is the fun bit. Being an Escort boy, I'd think ...

A friend snapped a camshaft doing that - thankfully the alignment tool was ok

Re: Citroen C3 sensodrive

Excuse the obvious - more curiosity: Can you not trace the wires out? If it's only accessible inside the gbox only: I would run some thin wire (kynar or ribbon type) to the actuator wires and out - thin enough, but still careful that they don't get crushed & short to the casing. That'll give me a co...

Re: Linux usability

Depending on the scope you have - if it's a '3000' series, the non-a/b drivers 'should' just work if Tobie's code is changed from 2000 to 3000 (most, if not all calls are the same, just pre-fixed differently). If it's a 3000a or b series, then the calls re-typed to suit the drivers, but otherwise sh...

Re: joining 2 or more current clamps to parade

A re-read of your question, I think I mis-read it at first? I'll try again: Moving the pickup to another location really depends on the layout of the wiring - the easy answer is to say 'try it'. The fractionally more in-depth answer is that moving the pickup away, may read an attenuated signal or wi...

Re: Linux usability

Demand and Time are the two main limiters. Meanwhile, regards 'Windows' - some garages have a dedicated, non-networked pc/laptop for diagnostics. That way, it's never updated beyond a working setup, nor connects to the internet to be affected by any nasties. If you have a 2000a series device, a comm...

Re: joining 2 or more current clamps to parade

If you have them per-channel, you'd get the same result you require, but different colour, making it easy to read.

If you wanted 2 or more (up to 12) on the 'same' channel, then the Pico MixMaster is probably what you want. (Check with Support first.)

Re: Hall sensor spikes?

Hey. Another old MS user here. What injector driver are you using? What injector impedance? What ignition driver are you using? (if the CoPs are not internally driven) Decent spec MS there - mine is a V2.2 MS1 with MS-Extra Circa '96  One day I'll have a car to use it on again. Most importantly...
