Re: Misfire Corsa B 1.0 2000

On this car the catalyst would mask most issues. In the absence of DTC P0420 the results will be misleading.
Provided the catalyst has not suffered a melt down due to the misfiring engine? :mrgreen:

Re: Sensor, wiring or ring ?? (Digital)

OK something to try. Each ABS sensor has three wires, connect your scope to the signal, ground and supply of each ABS sensor, get a driver and take the vehicle for a drive, ideally on the motorway, increase speed and adjust the settings on your scope accordingly while driving. Hopefully the vehicle ...

Re: Rough idle and white smoke on Mondeo

I think at the moment I'd put the scope aside unless you use it for testing the cooling system operating pressure. Some useful ideas to look at here; White smoke occurs when raw diesel comes through the exhaust completely intact and un-burned. Some causes of this include… 1 / Faulty or damaged injec...

Re: Misfire Corsa B 1.0 2000

Hi, the other guy has gone now so hopefully no more insulting replies to requests for help. It's difficult without the car in front of me, but if you suspect the car engine is running rich, the exhaust tail pipe black and sooty maybe, and maybe you have no gas analyser to check, take the car for a g...

Re: Sensor, wiring or ring ?? (Digital)

Looking at your scope traces and Hz readings, are your wheels and tyres the same sizes across the axle? Are your tyre pressures correct? Low profile tyres 'if fitted' can visually look OK by reference but once a tyre gauge is fitted the pressure can be very low and easily missed! I ask this because ...

Re: Sensor, wiring or ring ?? (Digital)

Somebody else experienced with Pico scopes might advise differently to me here, but comparing the data you have posted I'm not convinced I am seeing a problem with the sensors IMHO.

Re: Battery test (In automotive diagnostic )

I have a computerized state of the art battery/charging system tester, over £1000 to buy, it can do all sorts like flash reprogramming etc, I'm not saying its perfect, but the standards STC was referring to are built into the tester, I simply read the details off the battery and enter them into the ...

Something very very wrong there. Here is a typical sensor pattern you should be seeing;

Re: Battery test (In automotive diagnostic )

Many thanks for answering. However, it is not what I am after. I know the battery is fine, starter motor runs fine. I just wanted to know from the designer perspective, what that 80% means. How it is calculated and what is applied to. Many thanks for answering. However, it is not what I am after. I...
