Re: Piezo injector operation. Current vs voltage

Muttnjeff Very interesting read, it’s come down to individuals with a thirst for knowledge that drive these discussions. Agreed, we need to keep that grey matter exercised. training for today’s electrical systems has come down to flow charts Not so ! That may be the case with some Guided Fault Findi...

Re: Connecting ATS Pressure Pro and Exh. Pulse

First you will need the Technical Specs for your sensors. When you attach the Sensors to the scope they Output a Voltage dependant on the pressure being measured. For example 1psi = 5mv. Or 1 bar = 10mv. Easy way read off the Voltage from the Scope & use a calculator to calculate the pressure. The C...

Re: How to diagnose root causes from faulty waveforms?

The scope will not always give you root cause of the fault. Neither will the scope make one a better Technician or help to fix more cars. It is Good Knowledge and Good Tools !! My question arose from a fuel pressure test on 2012 Ford F-450 6.7l Diesel. I'm guessing you attached the Scope to the Fuel...

Re: Interesting Function on another Scope

Hi Mark. With Pico we can do all of that. He uses 3 signals there. Crank with Math Channel for RPM Ignition from the Coil Then Cylinder Pressure (WPS) He is a smart guy and that is a great and informational video. Steve, Ben, Pico if your reading. The Cylinder Numbering Feature is cool and very usef...

Re: Piezo injector operation. Current vs voltage

Freddie Many variables here. Are you comparing Apples with Oranges here ? That is Ac not Dc. - Edisson vs Tesla!! - The start of Electricity Distribution !!! He is not Grounded to Earth. Nothing Piezo there, Is there ? He has no Scope or any real Measurement device ? He is behaving foolishly ?

Re: Piezo injector operation. Current vs voltage

So when my fluke shows me 12V or -12V, it does not show me voltage direction (a bit improper word). Not an improper word at all. I remember being taught about this on a Bosch Course. Not so sure it is clear in the course notes (which are not with me right now) However I do remember the Trainer expl...

Re: Alternator ripple, what is normal?

You’re searching apples in a wrong tree. There’s nothing wrong with the car. Voltage spike is induced by inductive loads switching off. Bring energy in the system and voltage goes up if not dissipated. And that’s not from the alternator. !!!!!!!!!!! I would agree with that. Would ge good to see a P...

Re: Piezo injector operation. Current vs voltage

I don't think we can say voltage is just present, the voltage levels change but voltage is always there, it has no direction. Voltage does have a direction, We only have to look at the + & - on voltage scales in Pico. As it crosses the Zero line it has changed direction. Back to these injectors we o...
