Re: waveform library trial ?

Hi STC,

It is indeed a constant worry but there must be a solution and if James Dillon has managed to create a solution then maybe this is a route we can look into.

Thanks again for your input as always.

Kind regards

Ben

Re: Toyota

Hi Craig and Lisa, Welcome to the forum! Always good to see new people here and hopefully we can all help to further your journey with PicoScope. As PicoKev mentioned the more information you can give and any waveform captures you have will help everyone here to assist you with your problem. I think...

Re: waveform library trial ?

Hi Foiros and STC, Foiros - The idea is that the waveform library is to be used as a reference to help you compare a known good or bad capture whilst you are live with the vehicle. That way if there is something different you find on the library, you are still with the vehicle in order to recheck. S...

Re: waveform library trial ?

Hello Foiros, And welcome to the Forum! Always good to see new people join. My name is Ben Martins and I am one of the automotive team here at Pico Technology. To answer your question regarding the waveform library, yes, you will need a PicoScope attached to your PC. Think of the scope as a key to u...

Re: BMW E90 abnormal battery discharging

Just a thought and whilst I cannot be 100% confident, somewhere in the depths of my mind the positioning of the DDM on the E90 BMW's. I have seen it in the past where the drain for the scuttle panel gets blocked and slowly fills the ECU compartment with water. Whilst not common it did cause a lot of...

Re: Little bit of help to understand coil signal??? negative

Hello DebbieSidera, Thank you for your post and it's great to see this beautiful car still going strong! I think initially lets sort out the issue you have with the inverted capture you are seeing. This is a relatively easy fix and all it requires is a change to the probe you are selecting. I have a...

Re: Strange Relative Compression VW Transporter

Hi RYM6746, As STC's states it is an odd waveform for a 5 cylinder vehicle. I have had a look on the waveform library and there are lots for a 4 cylinder diesel but not the 5. One thing we can see from the initial capture is the starter speed, which in my opinion seems a little low. I don't suppose ...

Re: Automotive tab

Hi bartyoung64, Great to see you using and exploring the Automotive tabs. Hopefully you're finding them useful. To answer your question it does load a preset into the PicoScope software but this does depend on what you have selected. For instance if you were to select coil on plug, secondary ignitio...

Re: Breakout Lead Risks?

Hello and thank you for the post. Please accept my apologise for not answering this sooner. I think it is essential here to establish the Automotive PicoScope you are using as their architecture differs somewhat depending on model. Given the close proximity of terminals within harness connectors the...

Re: Unusual o2 sensor waveform

Hello Wellspin, Thank you for the upload of the waveform. Taking a look at the capture you have steevegt is right. The 'noise' that you are referring to is structured. Using the rotation rulers you can see that it is a uniform event. Lambda noise.jpg This could be down to injector or ignition events...
