Re: Pico Automotive Feature Requests

Hi Ashley, Well, you are in luck! This feature already exists within PicoScope and can do exactly what you ask. If you have set up your Maths channel with a mask, you can ask the software to do a number of things when the trace falls onto the mask. The current options you have are Beep, Play Sound, ...

Hello Martinr, You may think me biased as I work here, but this kit is extremely useful. When faced with the situation of where back probing and insulation piercing are not this kit will allow you to measure both voltage and current without disrupting the circuit. I was recently in a position just t...

Re: J2534 adapter for Heavy Truck (Class 8)

Hello Mike, Great to hear that including J1939 in the NVH would be a benefit and as Steve has mentioned it is very much under development. Whilst we still cannot give you a completion date the project is underway and has not been forgotten. We will of course keep this post updated as more informatio...

Re: Nissan Navara engine cuts out at idle

Hi Victor2k, I've had a look at your captures and they the injector current really doesn't look right. With some there is almost no hold in current to keep the injector open. I may be wrong and please correct me, but am I right in thinking the Denso injectors fitted are PiezoElectric? If this is the...

Re: AC ripple test

Hi Zack, Please do not feel dumb. We are all here to help and never be afraid to ask. To me that does look like ignition noise as you say. Using the guided test is absolutely fine but might I suggest increasing the sample rate to 1MS across the screen instead of the 250kS that the preset loads. This...

Re: Ford Smart Charging Systems

Hi Technician, LIN BUS will allow data to be transferred to and from the alternator via a single wire. The plug for these alternators do tend to have a two pin connector but only one of the terminals is utilised. The 3 wire type does exactly what it says on the tin! 3 wires all used where GenCOM, Ge...

Re: Ford Smart Charging Systems

Hi Technician, As Danny has mentioned you need to capture the LIN BUS. If BMS has an issue you should be able to see this a PID on your scan tool. From the the 3 wire type smart alternators with GenCOM, GenMON and sense, the system will default to 13.7V if there is a fault. In the captures you've up...

Re: Ford Smart Charging Systems

Hi Technician, There are a number of variables that can affect battery charging and ultimately the battery is one of them. Before any sort of testing can be carried out you will need to make sure that the battery is of good health and fully charged. That being said it is still possible that the batt...
