Re: MINI R56 2009

I admit not being in that part of the country I've not done anything with Bosch. From your description their courses come across like the City and Guilds Craft Studies courses and the electronics and microprocessor course I did in the 1980's, they also went into much detail about the function and op...

Re: MINI R56 2009

I spoke to her mum today in Sainsbury's, her boyfriend paid recently £4500 for the car and when she took the car her boyfriend took the car to a garage he knows who told him the engine is duff and requires a new one, at some major costs. I was not convinced these MINI engines burning oil at 40K mile...

Re: MINI R56 2009

I assume at this point you are just trying to get rid of the heater circuit code on the O2. I think a quick and dirty test would be to put a standard incandescent test light in place of the heater delete the code and run the engine you should see the light illuminate (probably pulsed on and off) an...

Re: MINI R56 2009

STC,

Given that you disagree with everything said, and you disagree with AD's test procedures as well, there is no pleasing you, so I have a solution.

You tell me how the circuits based on the two fault codes should be tested, the only code returned is the lambda code after road test.

Re: MINI R56 2009

I take your points on board, yes I have used AD's wiring diagram and their checking procedure. I have just learned today after litace post to check the fuses and power supplies that unless the engine is actually running there is no battery voltage to the fuses, which supply the power supplies for th...

Re: MINI R56 2009

Check ALL ecu supply voltages, could have one missing, fuses, there's 3 or 4 on this for engine ECU supply Thanks Liteace. I was not sure whether the car was being taken by the customer or not, but today it seems the car has been left with me, so after I speak to the customer, hopefully I'll see th...

Re: MINI R56 2009

Any update on this, sounds interesting. If only a PicoScope was owned & used, this has the makings of a great case study. Very true Mike, and although I might not get the opportunity on this occasion to use a Pico on it, there be other opportunities I'm sure where I can use it and a video presentat...

MINI R56 2009

Had this car left with me this morning, didn't think she was turning up but anyway... The car is a Mini R56 engine N12B14A. The customer was complaining about the engine running rough, she advised the revs would go up and down while driving. She also advised that the instrument display had a EML war...

Re: HVAC RMS

The reason I thought I'd ask this is because I used to use a RMS when I worked at Vauxhall some 13 years ago and their RMS did recover oil which I used to measure in the RMS before adding new oil back into the system when refilling. Because of this I was unsure whether I was missing something on the...
