Re: No communication

Hi Matt, If we take the 500K capture we can see there is something really not right with it. You can still afford to give yourself more time on the screen, maybe something around 20ms/div. You can also remove the trigger as that's not really going to help with an capture such as this. Looking at the...

Joe Bell J1939 on YouTube

Hi all, I should have shared this sooner and apologies to Joe for not doing so. Some of you may already be aware of this series on YouTube but if you're not then please take a look. If you are working with J1939 and what to know more about failure modes, what should it look like and more importantly...

Re: Nvh for hydraulic flow

Hi Jason, The ultrasonic, Parking Sensor Detector, is inexpensive at just £24 Ex VAT. https://www.picoauto.com/products/test-leads/ultrasonic-parking-sensor-detector I feel like it might need some modifications to be honest like the inclusion of a probe tip as it doesn't really lend itself to this t...

Re: No communication

Hi Matt, I think the biggest thing here is you haven't quite got enough time on the buffer to capture the whole packet of data. Also I can see that the baud rate is not 500kBaud but actually 250kBaud. If you get the situation where nothing is being decoded look to use 2 time rulers either side of th...

Re: Nvh for hydraulic flow

Hi Jason, Firstly thank you for posting as this is a topic I'm very keen to keep exploring in and its great to see others out there thinking in the same way. Listening for flow across a cylinder is quite challanging though as the sound are usually at an ultrasonic level. We do have a parking sensor ...

Re: GM/Cat J1587 Comm loss

Hi John, Good to hear you found the issue. Quite common for ECM's to have at least 2 battery feeds with sometimes 3 and an ignition feed as well. You've captured it very nicely on buffer 8. GMC circuit breaker.png Not the greatest idea putting both supplies on the same circuit breaker as you'll end ...

Re: Off highway and hd guided tests.

Hi Lee, Not a problem and no it isn't you! Hopefully they will come in handy. I've used it a few times now for demonstrating and the preset works well which is good to see. I've added a small preview of the Denox 2.2 to give a taster! gt-example-01.png It's taking a little longer as we're having to ...

Re: GM/Cat J1587 Comm loss

Hi John, Just want to let you know that I am looking into your file you sent. There is a lot to pick through but we can decode the data for certain which is great and yes you have set it up correctly. It's just a little more difficult to piece it back together compared with J1939 or J2534 as we don'...

Re: Off highway and hd guided tests.

Hi manplant, As with all best made plans they never quite pan out the way you intended. We were hoping to have had them in the software when we announced the off highway kits. As you'll be aware though this didn't happen. We are hoping though that they will be there for the next stable release of so...

Re: GM/Cat J1587 Comm loss

Hi SafetyLighting, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Sounds like an interesting fault! I take it that because the data just flatlines we don't have any fault codes? To help catch the fault when it occurs we could take a signal such as crankshaft to give us the engine speed. Using am advanc...
