OCV Capture wanted.

Hi all. I'm after a waveform for an oil control valve for Toyota VVT The engine is a 3ZR - FBE (be a bonus if some one has that). But I would imagine any 3ZR may do. Or a 2ZR. Even any random late model Toyota VVT OCV. I'm only interested to have a look at the frequency's, not for repair or diagnosi...

Re: MAF Signal

I think this is what Alan was referring to.
Yes, I thought the same.

I was just hoping we would see a better capture first.
My thoughts was the sample rate was too low. Therefore applying the maths there may give an incorrect result. - It's not the Pico way.

Re: MAF Signal

Your sample rate is way too low. X4 at least - avoid aliasing. You want a nice digital signal.

Re: Hello from New Zealand

i have done AED, SCAN1 and EMS1-1. Looking forward to doing the scope one and rest of EMS and like to do the diesel ones too? Have you done some with him? Yes. Done all his scope coarse's, apart from the latest (this year), but I started about seven years ago. Herbert has always been helpfull. They...

Re: Hello from New Zealand

Hi Brett.
Did some great training with a dutch guy here in south island who makes up scope packages and has good support (i think and hope about support) as options here are pretty limited.
That will be Herbert.

What coarses have you done?

Re: It’s not always about diagnostics....

Hi Dale Nice write up. I just thought I would have a play with your data file and this is what I came up with. One of my thoughts is. Is it possible the air gap is changing to give you the change in amplitude. Also is it possible a couple of teeth have been bent togeather (circled area) ? Also I can...

Re: Advice on waveform

I think the ignition needs a closer look. Your scope set up needs some attention though (avoid useing the drop down set ups if you can). A sample rate of 1us for igntion (check in properties), 20Kv for a kick off and enough time (seconds) on the screen to get a decent capture but not so big the file...

Re: Advice on waveform

As previously mentioned. A capture from the other bank.

You really want it's companion cylinder (#7 on an LS1?) plus have the crank signal on both to compare with.

An ignition capture on cyl 4 with the crank sensor, sample rate of 1us and a bit of time on the screen may help.
