Re: CAN BUS question

It's a pain the ass we can't see the fuel level as the BCM sees it. The psdata file you uploaded isn't much use unless you knew the PID for the fuel level before hand. Reverse engineering is tricky for numerous reason as I said in my last post, but on top of that Fuel Level is gonna be one of those ...

Re: CAN BUS question

For a couple of reasons I think you're chasing the wrong thing here. -Chasing things like packet data is going down a very deep rabbit hole. > What is the PID? > What's the formula to convert the data. > Is it CAN or a proprietary mutation in a similar fashion to GMLAN. - Why would the module that's...

Re: Filtering

Hi Steve, Thanks for the reply, it's just the kind of information I was looking for, it's all good learning material. The recording does have the whine the customer is complaining of in it, it's not particularly loud and it may be that it's more noticeable in the cabin than outside. I was thinking.....

Re: Filtering

Thanks Kev,
I'll have a look for my Scope Model and my NVH Kit just has the single axis interface.

Filtering

Just wondering if anyone has had a go at using the filtering option in the new NVH software. I've got a car with a Diff whine, the whine might actually be characteristic of the Diff, but as much as anything else I'm trying to get a handle on what is "normal" for this DIff so that I can then do a car...

Re: Vivaro, 2014: whistle sound when ignition is on

Hmm, could be an after blow function. Does the Car have Air Con? Some GM products with Air Con. have an after blow function to dry out the evaporator after the Air Con. has been turned off. Stops the build up of mildew.

Re: Subaru ABS Speed Sensor Circuit Distrotion

Moral of the story, don't trust the work someone else has done, or the parts they have fitted. Start from scratch, and don't rule anything out unless you can prove it yourself !!
Amen to that!

Re: Anyone Tried Arduino for OBD or K-line sniffing or Broad

What your shooting for sounds like what a lot of Techs. out there would be interested in. Like you say there seems to be two ends of the scale. One very basic, that's not much use diagnostically and the other end that far more complex than we need since it's as much about defeating the safety protoc...

Re: Anyone Tried Arduino for OBD or K-line sniffing or Broad

If your at all familiar with Linux or have some one in know that may be able to help you, the method spoken about in this you tube video looks pretty handy and the interface they used isn't too expensive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHqDLWN3a_w They talk about using different interfaces in the v...

Re: WiFi ELM327 Connection

Hi Alan, The Adapter doesn't work with all the free OBDII out there, but it does work with all the ones that specifically have an option to connect to a Wi-Fi Adapter. Clearly there isn't an option for that in the Pico Software. So I was hoping some one had come across software that would redirect a...
