Re: Wheel bearing failure

I think your praticing on the wrong thing here, it's difficult to get any practice time with tool, but I think this is the wrong kind of vibration / noise for the NVH tool. Because... -You could probably diagnose it much faster and just as effectively with a stethiscope and the NVH tool is the tool ...

Re: mg

I haven't bothered trying the thing with the weight. My assumption would be that the formula/methodology for the conversion is well over my head to be able to reverse engineer.
I've also had someone suggest that the Amplitude is in Gal (Galileo - 1 cm/s2)

mg

I have just been thinking (Probably the cause of the smell of burning rubber in the office). So, the amplitude for vibrations are measured in mg. Am I correct in assuming that this is milli-g? So then is that 0.0098 m/s2? Is there an easy way to visualise what, eg 40 mg is. I'm so used to thinking a...

Re: Vectra H CAN problem

Steering angle sensor is incorperated in to the CIM Module on these cars, the invalid data could be incorrect steering angle data. You should be able to look at the steering angle via ABS/ESP data.

Re: Waveform Library Reform

Hi Mark, Thanks for the suggestions. There are certainly a lot of waveforms in the database but the different search options should make it easy to get to the relevant one(s). What waveform were you looking for and what ones got in the way. We do enforce that a number of fields are filled in for a ...

Re: Waveform Library Reform

I like the idea of being able to up or down vote a Waveform, it's an efficient way to give feedback.

Waveform Library Reform

I'm curious as to how many people use the Waveform Library and how useful you found it. I was looking for a Waveform the other week and found 10 times as much stuff that was of no use, as stuff I found that was of any use. What do people think if you could only upload to the Library if... + You coul...

Re: CAN Going to sleep

I'm surprised it takes a whole day. I would have thought within an hour the BUS would be asleep, after that I would imagine it would only be modules waiting for remote inputs i.e. remote transmitters, passive entry, door buttons / switches.

Re: An help for study and decode the line CAN bus.

This is more a general piece of advice than an answer to the particular question asked in this thread. But if you are dreaming of diagnosing an issue by decoding BUS Messages, I would suggest that you read chapters 2, 4 & 5 of the Car Hackers Handbook (http://opengarages.org/handbook/ebook/) and wat...
