Re: New Beta 6.12.1 ... Win7 min

Hi, From R6.12 onwards we are going to support Win 7 / 8 / 10. If you want to use an older operating system its probably best to stay with R6.11. Having said that R6.12 will probably work with Vista but we are not going to be testing new releases on Vista. It will not work on XP as it requires a ver...

Re: Feature Request - using both ac and dc from single chann

Yes you can add a maths channel post capture to try this out.

I thought I had a brilliant idea using some clever maths channels but turns out it was not as brilliant as I thought.. Not given up yet though.

Re: Feature Request - using both ac and dc from single chann

Assuming you are on the 20V DC range for measuring battery voltage then rather than AC couple for the ripple have you tried just vertical zoom? You could right click to add another scope view, then in this view right click again and hide the channels you dont want. With just the battery voltage in t...

Re: Trigger and Screen update issue - not updating till end

Hi, Check Tools / Preferences / Sampling and see what the slow sampling transition is set to. The default is 200ms/div. What this means is that for captures of less than 2 seconds the data is captured and then displayed. For more than 2 seconds capture and display happens at the same time. Its possi...

Re: Update not automatically shown ... V6.11.12 now out!

Hi Richard, This is done by design. For a few days a new release is on the web available for download but does not get shown in the auto check for updates. This is part of ensuring a gradual roll out of new software. We do lots of testing but there are so many variables (different versions of window...

Re: Hi from N.Ireland

Hi Ernest, Welcome to the forum. If you have not already have a look at a few of the getting started videos (such as the Basics 1 & 2 here https://www.picoauto.com/library/training ) As for which PicoScope its a choice between the 2 channel 4225 and 4 channel 4425. My advice if you can afford it is ...

Re: Relative compression strange issue

You are right the student had move the amp clamp around on that second capture. What was strange was the large hump which has higher current. I was not sure why this was happening. Thanks for your response. Joe If by the large hump you mean the first one on the left hand side I suspect this one was...

Re: Relative compression strange issue

Hi, These look normal to me - perhaps one thing is that with the 2nd waveform the current clamp is the other way around so the current is negative. The first waveform shows how less current is required to compress the cylinder where the plug is removed. The other, once the engine is rotating shows t...
