Re: VW Golf 2005 - PD BKD Engine

3. Signal wire has no Volt Drop - Zero ! Wire cut both ends and substituted with known good. I guess this means that before cutting the wire the voltage at the sensor side is the same as the one reported by the communication tool. What was the voltage at the sensor side before cutting the wire and ...

Re: Flow Meter

I also believe that a flow meter could be a great tool sometimes. I could imagine a lot of potential for that. Using more than one sensor, for differential flow calculation, could also be interesting. For instance, in a commonrail system that generates no pressure, with sensors with enough resolutio...

Re: Nissan Navara 2.5 Denso

If you can't replicate the fault, I guess it's not going to be easy... You can can do other tests, like injectors return flow? You may find something, but you cannot guarantee that it is related to the problem you are trying to solve. Most likely you don't have ambient data/freeze frame data for the...

Re: Nissan Navara 2.5 Denso

Hi, This system is a one point control, only having the SCV as a way to control fuel pressure? Is the rail pressure stable at Idle? If it is not, it may point to a bad SCV, as I have found some (Denso ones) to fail often. The pressure not reaching 1800 bar at idle, I guess someone with the same syst...

Re: Waveform Library Reform

... Fine if you want to make like comments list for the waveform... That was my idea. Like having a forum thread dedicated for each waveform, having users discussing the waveform and stuff around that. Being able to edit the waveform file, I don't like that either, and I don't think it makes sense....

Re: Waveform Library Reform

All these point s are taken on board and we hope users will use the notes sections to add as much information on the test as possible.Yes it is hard to remember test conditions and link perhaps wiring information to the test but it can be done and works. If you have ever looked at our case studies,...

Re: Waveform Library Reform

Hi, To your questions I mostly have the same opinion as Alan. As a suggestion to improve the waveform library database, in my opinion, a feature that allows the community to add some info on the waveform, could help in multiple ways and solve some issues. Should be possible to all users, to add some...

AC voltage math channel

Hi, Is there a way of creating a math channel that will output the AC voltage of a signal? The only way I know how to do it is by creating a measurement and use rules to get the value between them. Not practical and not graphical as I wanted... My need for this at the moment is to graph the position...

Re: NVH Vehicle Speed Question

First, thank you Steve for your excellent post, as always... My first move, as you suggested, was to to see if I had any road speed related PID available, but unfortunately I had not... The "Calculate road speed" option should do the trick. That also answers another question that I had: I filled the...

NVH Vehicle Speed Question

Hi, As far as I know, there are 3 options to read the engine speed: Square wave signal, OBDII and user manual input. What about vehicle speed? I have a car (2008 model) that does not implement the vehicle speed PID (0D). What option do I have in this case? This is a hard limitation, because without ...
