Re: 1az-fse 2004 Toyota Noah running rich

Re: 1az-fse 2004 Toyota Noah running rich

Thanks for the link. Quite an eye opener! Even though Bernie was looking at the CKP sensor U can so see where he is coming from.

It looks like my PCM could be firing on the first hump of my CAM signal and using that to calculate timing?

Re: 1az-fse 2004 Toyota Noah running rich

The other images with the red Hall effect waveforms are actually ignition COP triggers so I could see where my ignition event was happening in relation to the Cam and CKP signals. It looks like I'm retarded if I'm taking the falling edge of the trigger as my firing event? Unfortunately a cant measur...

Re: 1az-fse 2004 Toyota Noah running rich

So my thoughts are that the humps and ripples in this CAM signal (red) is actually backlash of the camshafts cause from a slack chain? Would you agree?

1az-fse 2004 Toyota Noah running rich

Not sure if any of you have been following my thread on Iatn regarding this vehicle. In a nutshell we have a rich condition on this vehicle STFT -20 at idle and O2 maxed out at 850mv. STFT and O2 improve slightly at 2500-3000 rpm. The engine is a speed density engine using only a MAP sensor for air ...

Re: Lock 🔐 on my saved files

Hi Steve. I'm delighted to announce that we've ordered a new Pico and Pressure kit through Garagelube in South Africa, hopefully it will arrive soon so I'm holding off software updates for now until the new stuff arrives. Can't wait!!

Re: Four wire COP current ramp

Thanks Tom. Yes, having done a bit more research, and evidence of a fouled plug caused by a hectic rich condition I agree. The ramp is due to CEMF and in my case, there must have still been energy in the coil between firing events which caused the "half ramp" which looked like the beginnings of a sh...

Thanks Steve, I'll definitely try that. I'm out of town at the moment but so will give it a bash when I get back.
