Re: relative compression

Is the engine turning over irregularly? Can you hear an RPM change?

Thanks.

Re: scoping MAF-MAP on late diesels

For one, it is difficult to analyze a pulse-train such as what you are describing with the MAF and MAP sensors. Scoping the pulse-train will allow you to monitor the signal integrity and watch for catastrophic signal breakdowns. PicoScope 6 (6.4.28) with a 4000 series DSO will allow you to look at F...

Re: lambda sensor problem

so how does the pcm tell if the emmission is wrong after the cat it only has the post sensor and the fault codes available to the post sensor is limited ie heater fault or bad wiring or slow response. thanks for the reply chris It uses the post cat lambda sensor but it doesn't necessarily compare s...

Re: lambda sensor problem

Are we so sure we know what the PCM is looking for to gauge conversion efficiency? Switch-rate is rarely used, even though service information may have you believe that. There have been examples of pre vs post cat sensor waveforms that would insinuate a bad cat yet the PCM passes them and bank to ba...

Re: lambda sensor problem

Did replacing the cat "fix" the hash on the post cat lambda sensor?

Thanks.

Re: lambda sensor problem

My knee-jerk reaction was to say you had a connection issue. You may still but what is interesting to me is that it only happens as the signal moves up in amplitude. You have to verify connection integrity first, which I think is a given. Is this a multi-wire sensor? I would be interested what the g...

Re: Using the 2205 for automotive

The 2205 will not work with Picoscope 6 automotive software or Pico Diagnostics. If you are only interested in those particular tests, perhaps you could locate yourself a used Pico 3223 lab scope. Even new they are not very expensive.

Good luck! Later, Matt.

Re: 4423 kit

Hello, im looking at purchasing the above kit in Australia to trace and intermittent fault on a vehicle. Is it possible to set this unit up to log as the fault is not always there, and at this stage it appears to be a spark issue as it happens on both petrol and gas.I did read an article here about s...

Re: picoscope 3223 automotive kit

Hi,got the chance to buy a pico 3223 auto kit for £500 used only once,is it an a ok scope to start out with and is it worth the money. Thanks Absolutely. It's a great scope PERIOD, not just starting out. Make sure you download and install the latest version of PicoScope 6 Automotive (or try out the...
