Re: Pedal value sensor

2014-03-24_12-50-55.jpg Hello Greg and sorry for this late reply. How did you get on with this vehicle regarding code P1222? I have experienced a number of issues surrounding gas pedal position sensors where I have struggled to prove a pedal failure given I have acquired similar scope patterns to t...

Re: CURRENT CLAMP TA167

Hi Simon, depending on the software version you are using the probe menu should already contain 2 x 2000 amp probe settings, 2000a/200 mode and 2000a/2000a mode. To download the latest version of PicoScope go to http://www.picoauto.com/software-picoscope-automotive.html. With the new software instal...

Re: Cylinder #1

Hello Nicky and thank you for your enquiry. To prevent the pattern/waveform moving about your screen you will need to set a "trigger" to stabilise the waveform. Here is would be helpful for you to use the pre-set below. "Using the AUTOMOTIVE menu. Select AUTOMOTIVE-IGNITION-DISTRIBUTER-IGNITION SECO...

Re: Cylinder Balance Test - Porsche V8?

No I did not had them connected. The F250 GT/L has two coils and two distributors. I just pulled the center coil wire of them. Also I disconnected the terminal of the fuel pump. May it could be the carburettors residual gas but after repeat the test several times.. i don't think that there was any ...

Re: Cylinder Balance Test - Porsche V8?

Hi Debbie and thanks for the feedback on this issue. Whilst there is real value in the Pico diagnostic cylinder balance and compression test on a multitude of vehicles we have to concede on the limitations mentioned with these "high cylinder count" engines. The spikes you mention appear to be evenly...

Re: Opel Astra G 1.4 Misfire Problem

Hello Antreas from Steve at Pico. Thank you so much for posting this information and your other posts. Sharing information like this demonstrates the value of the scope, and along with the waveforms included, enables users to build their own personal libraries based on "real life" case studies. Re: Diesel exhaust waveform analysis

Hello and thanks for posting this waveform as exhaust and intake pulsations get you thinking for sure. The exhaust pulsation will be offset by one pulse to the right after your trigger on this engine, and so your analysis is correct looking at the image attached. What is interesting is the progressi...

MIN AND MAX MATHS CHANNELS 2014-03-13_15-46-17.jpg Hello and thanks for taking the time to feedback. Trying to find a “one size fits all” accessory to determine rough idle was going to be ambitious to say the least, and the muscle car is just one example. Both the pressure transducers you mention a...

Re: GiGas from Denmark.

Hello and thank you for your post and sorry my delayed reply. Your English is fantastic and leaves me feeling guilty that I have not pursued another language skill. (We English have a reputation for lazy language skills) You have raised some very valuable points about future diagnostic procedures an...
