Re: TA473 60A BNC+ Current Clamp

So I bought a TA496 and it is just great! Never realised how much of a faf setting up an Amp clamp was until you use one that you just plug in, no batteries, no scale setting, no auto switch off (or not!). 5ma -60A is perfect for just about everything except an RC test. Smaller jaws are a bonus too....

Re: in cylinder pressure wave form thats got me baffled

That's an interesting one - this is at idle I assume from the intake vacuum. I would say a leak between cylinders as the pressure starts to increase at 60 ATDC when all the valves are shut (or supposed to be) that can only come from another cylinder. If an exhaust valve was open it would decrease - ...

That's great, thanks.
Looks like only one way comms in that waveform !

Re: TA473 60A BNC+ Current Clamp

Since the TA496 has the same speed but slightly less resolution would that work for this application?

Re: Measuring Timing using injector pulses

Fantastic observations and info Steve, much appreciated.
Of course degrees of rotation would be the perfect solution :D

Re: Finding Correct Frequency ranges

Obviously the crash should not happen! I think the issue - at least with the example you posted is that you do not have a full screen of just the data you want to examine. Picoscope sees the first Highs and low of the data - the current for example and works out where to take it's frequency measurem...

Bug in the Bug report (and demo waveform)

Tried to submit this on the bug report screen under "feedback" from latest EA Linux version: 7.0.114.13322 Unless it is operator error, advanced trigger does not seem to work on the demo. Example in pic attached. Thanks Picowight and tried to attach this pic to show what I mean adv trigger on demo.p...

Re: Measuring Timing using injector pulses

This video might help

Use the same concept but measure the section of cam signal that you want so you get it spot on (rather than the crank shown here.)

Re: Measuring Timing using injector pulses

If you just want to see timing change relatively over the rev range/load, scope an injector and trigger off any fixed point on a cam waveform using an advanced trigger.

Re: Flex-Ray Testing

The presets are expecting you to use 10x leads (that pass 1/10th of the voltage to the scope) so it is multiplying the voltage it sees by 10.
If you check in "probes"you will probably find it's set to a 10:1 Attenuator, if you change this to "no scaling" probe you will get the expected results
