Hi there,

Have a look at the cam shafts and hydraulic lifters. I believe this engine is prone to failures in this area.

This would lead to incorret calve opening and closure.

Hi,
Firstly if yoy have black smoke coming out of any diesel equipped with a DPF or the tailipe is black than you
the DPF is damaged and needs to be replaced. No cleaning will restore a damaged DPF.

Also look at the boost control and EGR operation.

Hi Victor, Looking at your upload no4 Cam/Crank sensor signal I think you will find a retarded valve timing. The Nissan D40 does not log a crank/cam corelation code.
