Re: Do I have conclusive evidence

After some data had been collected I decided it was time to shut the engine off and return to KOEO, I qucikly cycled the key off then back - the ECU did not power down inbetween. I tried again to run the TB actuator test - only to find it failed, so I manually verified the butterfly wasn't stuck and...

Re: Do I have conclusive evidence

At this point it seems time to explain the TB a little more; Its a four wire device. Pin 1 = Ecu controled PWM ground Pin 2 = Vbatt supply via some relay/fuse Pin 3 = Ground for position feedback circuit Pin 4 = Position feedback signal Ordinarilly the buttefly is fully open, by virtue of a spring. ...

Re: TDCI leak back test

Never concern myself too much with the actual volume, providing its not through the roof. Sure its not the usual VGT issue?

Re: Systems Operation - Kia Sorento

The one I was working on was 56, first of the facelifts. Engine may still be the same, D4EB. If it looks likely to be same, and you have the time that would be great. Crank sensor comes up to a connector plug at the front of the engine, at the number 4 end of the engine. Forget now if it was 2 pin o...

Re: New coil + Ign module

I'm sorry, I can't offer any advice, but I do have questions, could somebody more learned than me shed some light on these points? What are we actually seeing here, ie. How is it possible for the coil current to still be 6A after the PCM has removed ground path. I assume this from what is being show...

Re: Systems Operation - Kia Sorento

Thats the same layout I was getting from a hyundia sante fe, and the same conclusions I came to. With which wire does what etc.

If you get your vehicle back in, any chance of a cam vs crank waveform?
Thanks

Re: Hyundai Santa Fe' Timing waveform

Just to follow up, Car was returned to the original garage, I wanted a proper injector test doing by an injector specialist. All has gone quiet, the last time I spoke to them, the injectors had not yet been tested. Owner was wanting to sell the car. I also heard second hand that the first time it wa...

Re: How to create reliable stable Current Drain

Considered glow plugs?

And immersed heater elements, as found on many CRD's?

Should be tighter on the tolerances.

How are you managing to test circuits without still going through the car fuses?
