Re: Confused ?

I can't see how you could have a pico distributor as a contender, Robski... but have to agree, the competition winner does seem confusing,if the competition finishes at the end of the month how can you have a winner the day before it ends? maybe be if this is an on going thing then can we have a pre...

Re: layover for in cylinder transducer

To be honest I would start with out using the overlays, in my opinion if this is your first time with compression wave analysis then you will have a long road ahead of you... you don't actually need the overlays at all, but must admit they do look good for explanation purposes.. As robski has said t...

Re: VW Golf 1.9 TDI (ALH) 2001- Running issues

Good Job Robski Jobs like this can be a pain having more than one issue they can drive you mad, looks like you identified the second issue with good use of the scope in a reasonable time. Did you do any more with the pico diagnostic?s the latest version has many more features on it since the last fe...

Re: A silly question

Jab, Not a silly question at all, the secondary ignition would be taken from the HT lead or you will have to use the pico extension leads if it's COP. All I do is clamp the plug to an engine bracket or somewhere safe (with the HT lead of course), and you will get the secondary ignition for that cyli...

Re: Jumped timing chain ID with a scope

Something not right with your set up forget the crank and cam for now just do running comp at idle

change the scaling and time base. Do it on a 20ms or 50 ms and use a trigger, thats all we will need for now..

Would you like me to set up this waveform at idle or during a snap?

Why not do both just in case you have have excessive back pressure, this will show up, as this was the fault with my one which was storing P0300,

Re: Jumped timing chain ID with a scope

The best way is to do a running compression test with your transducer... Then post the capture and we can have a look. I take it this Ignition system is a Compression Sense Ignition (CSI) I have had a fair bit of dealing with two of these of late.. If you picked up the Cam out signals and crank you ...
