Re: PQ333

Hello, To confirm the difference between PQ333 (the 4425A Off Highway Scope) and PQ174 (generic 4425A PicoScope) is a different rubber case and a different plastic base on PQ333 to allow a more secure fit for the rubber case. Underneath the case the scope is exactly the same. I will ask the question ...

Re: TA496 vs TA473

Hello, Firstly I must apologise for the late reply. There are some differences between the two clamps. Firstly the jaw size. The TA473 has a slightly bigger opening in the jaw allowing cables up to 12mm compared to the TA496 which has a jaw opening of 9mm. This can be useful for battery drain ...

Re: Newbie picoscope user

Hi, Welcome to the forum! The scope you have is certainly a pocket rocket but missing some key features when it comes to usability within the garage environment. Please see the following post which talks through some of the differences between the T&M products and the Automotive products. https ...

When relative compression steers you in the wrong direction

What I love about working in this industry is that there is always something to learn. Unfortunately, the most important learning moments are when you get something wrong, overlook something or let your diagnosis be led by previous reports. This happens to the best of us and should never be ...

Re: Magnetic transducer for engine rpm on Cat diesel 3126

Thanks for filling in pump details. I've seen this dual pump setup where both pumps can assist in a service. I'm sure Doosan/Develon use a similar technique in their excavators. Filtering will just help remove some of those unnecessary frequencies. Please remember though to capture without filtering ...

Re: Magnetic transducer for engine rpm on Cat diesel 3126

Great capture Redmech, thanks for sharing! WPS600C is great isn't it! Adding a little filtering here will help clean that signal and you should start seeing the pulsations within the system. You should have nice even pulses based on the output of the pump. If you use the time rulers you can even ...

Re: Ethernet testing methods

Hi snap4749, Firstly I must apologise for the delay in getting back to you on this. Ethernet testing isn't for the faint hearted as there are varying different speed levels in vehicles at the moment for Ethernet. You have 10BaseT and 100BaseT which sit at 10Mbs and 100Mbps respectively. BroadReach ...

Re: J1939 CAN bus Loading

Hi all, Firstly thank you Steve for posting the additional information on BUS loading calculations. Shame there isn't a maths channel for it! Going back to original image we need to see how the decoder is being set up. I think the reasons for the decoder not working is it's not setup correctly ...

Re: J1939 CAN bus Loading

Hello, Thanks Roman for the advice. To add further if you have the latest stable or early access version of PicoScope 7 Automotive take a look at the new heavy duty and off highway guided tests. There is a built in J1939 serial decoding test which will preload the settings required to make the ...

Re: uploading waveforms

Hi Andy, Any chance you could grab a screenshot of the upload page in the waveform manager? You should be able to see the scope model and serial number. You can then import files or a folder from here and make any edits required without having to open each file. waveform manager.png Let us know and ...
