Re: problems with picoscope 6.13.6 on windows 10

John,

Here is a link to the 6.12.7.2724. This is the version we are distributing now since the last two releases had issues. Link good through January, 2019. This version came out in March of 2017.

Re: problems with picoscope 6.13.6 on windows 10

Oh bummer. This latest build (6.13.14.4038) crashes when editing or creating a custom probe so these tasks are not possible.

Is there a way around this?
Try freq(A)*1.67

Re: Using the rotational rulers

Would it be fair to say then that there would be no correlation between the scope linear crankshaft movement in degrees, and the manufacturers circular and spiral valve timing diagrams? No. There is certainly a correlation. I picked that example to exaggerate the CKP speed changes effect on measure...

Re: Access to waveform library

If you would like to understand more about how the Pico automotive scopes compare to the Snap-On Verus, etc here is a rather long thread with a lot of good info:

Re: Using the rotational rulers

Here is a V8 Ford EDIS CKP. Phase rulers frame 360 degrees and the measurement ruler is at true TDC zero degrees. Look how far off the measurement data is. Hope this helps.

Re: Using the rotational rulers

Speck, I think you are missing the point. Maybe I was not clear enough. Imagine a crank sensor. Each rotation is 360 degrees. Graph the frequency of a high resolution CKP and see what you get. Frequency changes and you can see each individual cylinder firing acceleration in the frequency graph. As f...

Re: Using the rotational rulers

Lost me there, Speck.

It has everything to do with the speed of the engine. The degrees get closer together and farther apart as the engine speed varies. Each cylinder firing is an acceleration.

Re: Using the rotational rulers

What Speck said.

Keep min mind though that, these measurements will be ball park figures and not as precise as you may need at times. When using these rulers, all the degrees are evenly spaced. Of course, that is not what is happening in reality as the speed of the engine is always varying.
